Purpose
Arithmetic Reasoning essentially measures cadets’ capacity to solve from simple to complex problems. Applicants will have to decide the right choice of answer out of five possible answers. This quantitative section of AFOQT is designed to determine high-school and college-level problem-solving skills.
Concept
In hindsight, this part of the test tests your ability to use arithmetic problems. You can get hold of Formula Sheet to assess the applicability for different questions. The real challenge most of the applicants, however, is answering 25 questions in 29 minutes. It means time management will have to devised carefully.
The quantitative section, as a whole, mainly focuses on three main categories, such as Arithmetic, Algebra, and Geometry. However, each of these areas will have variant conceptual problems. You shouldn’t presumptuously rely on your basic understanding of geometry, proportions, ratios, percentages, or set of integers. Instead, practice contemporary math practices that can help you solve most of the concepts of this section quite easily.
You should prepare thoroughly as Arithmetic problems entail a number of topics such as properties, prime numbers, division, factorization, remainders, exponents, roots, integers, number sequences, decimal points, absolute values, ratios, percentages, estimation, and number lines.
As much as Algebra may sound complex, it has relatively fewer concepts than Arithmetic. You should prepare beforehand to calculate functions, relations, inequalities equations, forming equations to solve word problems, simplifying algebraic expressions, factoring, and operations & exponents.
